Welcome to our website. We hope you will find it a useful source of information about Moss Side Primary School.
We work hard to maintain our ethos and values, which are:
- To develop each child’s individual ability to the full.
- To develop, in the child, confidence and independence.
- To provide a friendly, stimulating environment.
- To develop, in the child, respect and consideration for others and the environment.
- To establish an atmosphere of security and stability.
Our school was built in 1982 to cater for the New Town expansion. It has grown from strength to strength, the last three inspections being Outstanding. We consistently top the Key Stage 2 SAT results table for Leyland schools. This is achieved through:-
Hardworking, knowledgeable staff
- Well-structured teaching
- Extra support groups
- Low staff turn over
But most important of all because our children enjoy school. They are motivated by our creative curriculum, special weeks, visitors to school and visits out of school. We aim to make school a welcoming, exciting place where our children are happy and safe, secure in the knowledge that they will be supported and encouraged to develop into well rounded individuals, achieving their maximum potential in all areas.
Our children care for each other and the environment. We have high expectations of their behaviour, which they live up to. Visitors to school remark about our polite, well behaved children. Where there are lapses in behaviour they are dealt with firmly, in a consistent manner. Bullying is not tolerated. The children know to report any incidents and that they will be listened to and action taken.
Both the children and staff are justifiably proud of our school, and would be pleased to show round any prospective parents who are considering applying to Moss Side.
